Backgammon

Backgammon is a two-player ancient race game blending skill and luck, where players move 15 checkers around a board with 24 points, aiming to bear them off (remove from the board) before their opponent. Players use dice rolls to move their pieces towards their home board, strategically blocking opponents or hitting their lone checkers (blots) to send them to the bar, forcing them to re-enter. The first to get all their pieces home and bear them off wins, often using a doubling cube to raise stakes.

Key Components:

Board: Divided into four quadrants with 24 points (triangles).
Pieces (Checkers): 15 per player, usually black and white.
Dice: Two dice determine movement.
Goal: Move all checkers to your home board and then bear them off the board first.

How it Works:

Movement: Roll dice, move checkers that many spaces clockwise.
Hitting: Land on an opponent's single checker (blot) to send it to the bar.
